UNDERSTANDING HOW UNIVERSAL LAW WORKS

I love that quote from Einstein. The most esteemed scientist of the last century believed that an awesome Power has Its hand in the creation and affairs of the universe.  I can't know what he was thinking, of course, but he seemed to suggest that Whatever created the Universe is as spiritual as it is scientific and as scientific as it is spiritual. Perhaps he was telling us that the Power that governs the universe is the same as the Power in the atom and that by learning the secrets of the atom, we can learn the secrets of creation..and create our life, according to natural law.

Well, maybe I've put a little of the beliefs of "yours truly" into Einstein's statement. If you've visited my website or read my articles, you know that my mission is to bring to the public an integrated correlation that explains the laws of life,.for this knowledge is the foundation for all growth, change, healing and achievement.

Life improves dramtically when we become aware of the "missing link" between what we WANT in life, the laws, our subconscious programs, how we think and what we actually GET. Once we become aware of this relationship, we realize it's "programming" that interferes with our getting what we want. Fortunately, there are effective tools and techniques for reprogramming ourselves.

The universal laws are "real" laws, like the law of gravity. While it may not be possible for the finite mind to understand the Infinite, science has discovered that the laws by which It organizes, orders and governs the universe are the laws of energy. This is wonderful news, for the laws of energy are learnable, and you don't have to be a quantum physicist to apply them to your life.

These laws have been known for thousands of years. They were taught in ancient mystery and wisdom schools, but never to the public. Hermes Trismegistus, believed to be a contemporary of the biblical Abraham, is credited with first putting the laws into a form that humans (those who have an interest in this kind of material) can understand and utilize.  The teachings are called Hermetic Philosophy, and I first heard of them when I took a marvelous training called Concept-Therapy in the mid 1960s.  After taking all their courses, I was one of their instructors for many years.  I have also studied many different teachings, but nowhere else have I found the universal laws explained with clarity,except in texts specifically on Hermetic Philosophy.. Yet spiritual, motivational, inspirational and success teachings of every kind are based upon these laws...with each discipline "choosing" the part they want to embrace.

My work is about creating a "synthesis" that explains and simplifies these laws and integrates them with the laws of the mind. This is especially needed for busy people who have neither the time nor interest to study "mystery school" teachings and correlate them with modern science.  Most people just want enough information (that makes sense to them) so they can live happier, healthier and more prosperous lives. Presenting the material in this manner has become my mission, so the "five minute" version follows.

HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT

The "key" to getting what you want is to know how the laws work, for they are the rules of the game of life. It begins with understanding that every thing is energy.  All that exists -- including every thing we can (and cannot) see, hear, taste, touch or smell with our 5 senses -- is energy. These infinite forms and varieties of energy all come out of, and are part of, what quantum physicists call "the unified field of energy". Everything -- on the physical, mental/emotional and spiritual planes --  is particles and waves of energy.

Since energy is all there is, you are an energy being. Energy is in a constant state of vibration and is electro-magnetic.  That means that you, and every cell in your body, every thought you think, every word you speak is vibrating electro-magnetic energy. This vibrating energy is your "energy field", made up of your vibrations.

The energy of the human mind is incredibly powerful. As we vibrate our energy field (made up primarily of the contents of our mind) into the unified field, we attract to ourselves the people, conditions, circumstances, situations and events that vibrate in harmony (or resonance) with us.  These become our life. NOTHING can come into your life unless it is in VIBRATIONAL HARMONY  with some aspect of you and your mental energy.

Using the laws to change your vibrations is how you get what you want.

The laws I am talking about are the Laws of Vibration and Attraction (In Hermetic Philosophy these are considered one law).. There are many more. The one that causes humans the most grief is the Law of Polarity, which I have written briefly about in other newsletters, and will cover more in depth in the future.  This law tells us that everything that exists comes with its polar opposite.  Thus, masculine co-exists with feminine, yang with yin, peace with war, prosperity with poverty, health with disease, love with hate, joy with sadness, courage with fear, big with little, up with down, male with female, strong with weak, etc.

Out of the duality of life we make up our own lists of good and bad, according to what we like and don't like. The reason the Law of Polarity distresses us is that we have the mistaken belief that the universe "should" be different than it is.  People believe that "bad" things should not be "allowed" to happen.  However, in a world of duality -- and this is a law -- opposites will always exist.  It is up to us to focus on what we consider positive (for us) and align ourselves so we resonate with what we want andattract it to us. When we understand how the universal and mental laws work, we have the free will to create our life as we choose, in spite of the Law of Polarity.

INSPIRING FEATS OF AMAZING PEOPLE

Most of us use a very small percentage of our mental power, even though we know that when we "put our mind to it", we can accomplish things that seem impossible. Think about the accomplishments of people we admire. Every skilled athlete who hits his mark, every acrobat who twists her body into unbelievable shapes, every ice skater who glides and twirls with remarkable grace and ease spends a great deal of time in physical practice, of course, but it is the MENTAL discipline that makes it possible for them to do such astonishing things with their body.

Consider what some people are able to do when they refuse to allow their disabilities to"cripple" them. One paraplegic rock climber scaled a 3,500 foot cliff using only his arms, saying that when his mind is set on a goal, nothing stops him.  A man who was became blind from a disease at the age of 13 never allowed blindness to be a barrier in his life. With that attitude, he climbed to the top of Mount McKinley, America's highest mountain. Another man is a champion cross-country skier who did not quit after he was paralyzed from the waist down. He now skis faster sitting down than he used to ski standing up, and enters and wins races for non-handicapped skiers.

Then there are handicapped artists who paint incredibly beautiful pictures with their feet or mouth. These are not childish scrawlings; their artwork is as lovely as the finest paintings hanging in a gallery. The Association of Mouth and Foot Painters sells lovely calendars and greeting cards with paintings made by these inspiring artists.The first mailing I received that introduced me to this organization, had a photo of a woman on the envelope painting with her month.  I will never forget the printed words:  "I paint to show my "LOVE FOR LIFE".  How many of us able-bodied people have those kinds of thoughts? There is no way of "overcoming" the disabilities these people live with, other than to use an act of "will" and choose to participate in life. Then, they need to "reprogram" themselves to make mental, emotional and physical adjustments and learn new skills.  After all, no one is born with a "talent" of skiing without the use of their legs, or painting with their mouth or feet!

IS NEGATIVE SELF-TALK DEFEATING YOU?

In my last Newsletter, I offered suggestions on what to say and not say and the reasons for using (and not using) certain words and phrases. Now, I'll share some thoughts about why we have negative self-talk, and what to do about it. Negative self-talk are our thoughts being verbalized in our head. They come up when our negative beliefs and programs are "triggered". Someone who has a belief that he is not "good enough" will hear self-talk like "I better not take a chance because I probably can't do this", if offered an opportunity for advancement.

Negative self-talk serves as a "messenger".When we hear ourselves talking negatively to ourselves (and feel the discomfort of the emotions that accompany negative self-talk), it is an opportunity to discover what we are thinking. Of course, we all have negative thoughts from time to time. They're not a problem if we just observe them and allow them to dissapate. Howver, if we accept these thoughts as "the truth" and repeat and reinforce them, they become embedded in our nervous system and cellular structural and become part of our programming. Once that happens they keep feeding us negative messages in the form of more self-talk like "you're a failure, you don't do anything right, you're too old, life has passed you by, don't even try, you'll never get well ".and so on. Each time you hear your negative self-talk and allow yourself to believe what you hear, you undermine yourself.

Now here's an important piece of information that many people don't realize: every wealthy, admired, successful, talented person -- whether an athlete, actor, musician, artist, doctor, speaker, writer, sales person, corporate executive, wall street broker, attorney, entrepreneur, etc. -- has negative self-talk at times. That's why they, too, have "bad days" when their performances are not up their usual standards. But for the most part, they DO NOT LISTEN to their negative self-talk. That's the difference between them and the rest of humanity.  Most people DO listen, and it stops them from living their dream. It even stops them from carrying out activities and tasks for which they have excellent, even, superior, skills.

YOU don't have to listen either!

IT MAY BE TIME TO CHANGE YOUR PROGRAMMING

As stated earlier, your self-talk brings you a valuable message. If negative self-talk comes up often and you find yourself listening to it and believing it, it may be time to change your programming.  One of the ways to do that is to get more information that can impact on your beliefs -- like information about the universal and mental laws that govern your life. Knowledge leads to understanding. "Ah hahs" can do more to stop the incessant chatter of negative programming than years on a psychiatrist's couch.

When we get new information and pass it on to our subconsious, it is easier to change our programs. Until they change, however, we need to consciously CHOOSE our thoughts, words and mental images ( "seeing" what we want in our mind, instead of seeing what we don't want). These conscious techniques must be repeated and repeated in order to break through the critical faculty (the barrier) of the mind. Having to consciously choose (and often change) our.words, thoughts and images all the time is tiring, but eventually, with persistance, the new program "kicks in" and the new thoughts, words and images become automatic.  Remember when you were learning to drive -- how you had to think about every move at first, and now how you can review the day's events, plan dinner and have a conversation? That's because your subconscious now has a "program" that knows how to drive, and you don't have to think about it, unless there's danger ahead -- in which case your program for "safety", hopefully, kicks in!

In addition to conscious methods of reprogramming, you can use the remarkable SCWL subliminal tapes (SCWL means Subconscious to Conscious Way of Learning). These tapes are different from other subliminal tapes in both their scripts and in the technology used to manufacture them.  The best part about them is that they by-pass the critical barrier and go DIRECTLY to your subconscious.  My website http://www.visions2001 has some information about them, and more will be up soon. My most important personal testimony about SCWL tapes (I have several) is that using the "Psychoneuroimmunology" tape when I was critically ill is one of the reasons I am alive today.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

This was just forwarded to me. I thought it was important enough, and relevant enough to my readers to put in the newsletter:

Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home, (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated.

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest you home; unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make  it that far. What can you do? You've been trained in CPR but the guy that taught the course neglected to tell you how to perform it on yourself.

Without help the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a phone and, between breaths, call for help.

Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!
